Last Tuesday a group of 4th grade children celebrated Thanksgiving with students from Abilene Christian University (ACU). Thanksgiving is a harvest festival that is celebrated in both Canada and the USA. In the USA, Thanksgiving takes place on the 4th Thursday of November. On this day, families gather to give thanks and enjoy a feast of turkey, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and many other traditional dishes.
The ACU students are currently spending a semester abroad in Leipzig and generously prepared a feast of delicious, homemade dishes. After the meal, the kids made a turkey craft and wrote down what they were thankful for. Finally, the children joined the students outside for a game of American football before heading back to school.
